Finasteride For Prostate Cancer

Let's summarize another study.
In the Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial, 18,882 men, age 55 or over, received either finasteride (Proscar) 5 mg/day or placebo.

Finasteride did appear to prevent or delay the appearance of prostate cancer and to improve urinary flow in the men who took it; however, men taking finasteride were more likely to suffer sexual dysfunction and were more likely to get high-grade prostate cancer.

This study leaves us with the question does it do more good than harm to take finasteride to prevent prostate cancer.
